Ubisoft is shutting down Hyper Scape

Ubisoft is shutting down Hyper Scape, a gratis-to-play battle royale game that outset launched back in August 2022. The game prioritized movement with stylized graphics, and was primarily adult by Ubisoft Montreal. Ubisoft notes in the declaration that the game volition be shut downwardly on April 28, 2022, leaving a couple of months for anyone yet playing to attempt some more matches. Ubisoft also added that the developers volition be taking "key learnings" from Hyper Scape into futurity games.

Looking ahead to the future, Ubisoft is betting on other projects, such as a Splinter Cell Remake, which is early in development using the company'southward proprietary Snowdrop engine. Ubisoft has as well drawn criticism for introducing NFTs into some of its games through the Ubisoft Quartz plan.

In our review of Hyper Scape, we ultimately found it to be "but okay," turning in some interesting ideas while missing the mark in a lot of ways.

"Hyper Scape does a lot of things right and introduces new gimmicks, but in its current state, the core gameplay isn't as fun equally it needs to be," we wrote. "The polish and potential are undeniable, but it fails to capture the spirit of what makes other games in this genre shine."
